Users will now be able to control the amount of Gen AI content they see on Pinterest.
With millions of users, Pinterest offers people the opportunity to share their creativity with the world. On this platform, users share images they have created or designed and evaluate the feedback of others. However, Pinterest notes that some users are demanding more transparency and control over Gen AI content.
For this reason, Pinterest has started testing a new feature that clearly marks AI-generated content. Images created with Gen AI will be labeled with an “AI modified” tag. In addition, users will be given the option to decide how much of this type of content they want to see.
“When people encounter AI-generated content on Pinterest, we want to empower them to make more informed decisions about what they view,” said Matt Madrigal, Pinterest’s Chief Technology Officer. He added that Pinterest acknowledges the positive impact of Gen AI on creativity and sources of inspiration, and is committed to giving users more control over these new content types.
Pinterest has also announced that it plans to expand its AI-related activities and introduce more tools in this area in the coming months.
